Lynsey Bennett is set to return to Ireland after getting a very positive update from doctors in Germany.
The mother-of-two is in Germany at a special facility where she has been undergoing treatment for the last month.
The 33-year-old from Killoe was diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer in 2017.
But there was a fantastic update from Lynsey on Thursday evening, as she told her 60,000 Instagram followers: Read all about it. Am coming home.
"I was meant to be staying another week in Germany but I am so happy with how things are going. I even managed to put on 2.3kg, which after 3 months of severely dropping weight and not being able to get it to stabilise is just amazing."
Lynsey noted that she was concerned about how the world is going in recent days, but also said she was determined to return to Ireland.
She explained: "I want to see how I will do with being back at home and creating a new routine again with changing around a lot of what I have been doing and adding more bits here and there. Looking for someone to help prepare food 5 days a week and help for 2 hours with machines
"I am hoping to try 4 weeks at home and get back to for a week or two during the Easter break. The clinic so kindly are letting me transfer next week to that week. I have a lot of important things happening in May and June that I don’t want to miss and so I don’t want to leave it that."
Lynsey also took to Twitter to share an update on her treatment, with some serious progress being made.
