Lynsey Bennett has said she is "truly hopeful" about her health as she reflected on the 18 months since she received a terminal cancer diagnosis.
The mother-of-two said she was given six to eight months to live and that she would likely be in a wheelchair with little quality of life.
The Longford native was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017 and endured "three and a half years of hell" while undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Reflecting on her cancer journey to date, Lynsey said while she still hopes for a "miracle" to one day be cancer free, living her life while having cancer is her main focus.
Sharing an update with her 60,000 Instagram followers on Thursday, she said: "18 months ago today, I was given my diagnosis, told that double dose of chemo was only option, I read the files of a 6-8 months probability of life left which while still being alive that I would be in a wheelchair that I wouldn’t have quality of life without or without chemo.
"Which I completely respect the choice of others who want to take chemo.
"I see now for me as hard and as soul destroying treatment from 2017-early 2020 I will now take as learning, for 3 1/2 years of hell where I tried all options of chemo radiation and operating, so that when I was told I was terminal, I knew that I finally had the strength and belief in myself that I wanted to take a path, which worked more on building my body up, most importantly my immune system, and stop just trying to attack what was wrong, and now work on improving the quality of what was the right in me."
Lynsey, who recently travelled abroad to Germany to spend time at a specialist facility for treatment, added: "Being cancer free, isn’t my goal, but living my life while having cancer, most certainly is.
"I would gladly take the miracle, of being cancer free. That is my dream.
"I have always said I am delusional free, but I am truly hopeful, of which now I am a true believer in everything that I do for my health, which use to be for my children mostly, but that I now do for me."
She then thanked the facility where she underwent a month of alternative cancer treatment.
@hope4cancermexico I will forever be grateful to you, for giving me the strength and the perfect start to this path," she said.
"The month I spent with you was so intense...You put my words and thoughts into practice, and created a family who still so kindly rings and checks in with me even after a year since I was in your care.
"I will truly be grateful to you all who shared and donated to the fundraiser to get me there, I remember the guilt of what if this doesn’t work and everybody has wasted their money, Thank you,Thank you for your belief in my choice to go."
Lynsey then showed her appreciation for Irish DJ Marty Guilfoyle, writing: "@martyguilfoyle thank you for rearranging your life to come with me, and take all my mood swings when I had moments of being so scared, am so proud of your journey since we have gotten home especially with your new tunnne HOMETOWN.
"So here I am @shein [sunglasses], @spanx leggings, friends @calvinklein T-shirt and my @pumawomen runners LIVING LIFE."
