There is renewed transfer interest in Lyndon Dykes from Rangers, according to a report.
But Millwall are leading the race for the QPR striker, who continued his good form for Scotland at the weekend with the leveller in their dramatic comeback win over Norway in Oslo. Michael Beale is on the hunt for another striker after last week’s £3.5million capture of Sam Lammers from Atalanta. Cremonese’s Cyriel Dessers remains a possibility, while Gers were also reportedly preparing a £7million bid for Utrecht hitman Tasos Douvikas, which has subsequently been shot down.
But the Daily Mail claim Dykes remains on a shortlist of striking targets as the Govan club look to fill the gap left by Alfredo Morelos, while Antonio Colak has been told he has no future under Beale as his summer rebuild gathers momentum. Premier League side Burnley have also been linked with the Aussie-born targetman as Vincent Kompany prepares for a return to the top flight with the Clarets, which would no doubt appeal to Dykes.
However, a return north of the border could also be tempting, especially with a crack at Europe on the cards with Rangers in the Champions League qualifiers. Dykes is in the final year of his QPR contract, which could make him a far cheaper option than Douvikas, although wages may prove a stumbling block if the Light Blues find themselves up against a host of English clubs for Dykes’ signature.
