This bank holiday weekend Greater Manchester basked in sunshine, while other parts of the UK recorded the hottest day of the year so far. The good news is, the warmer weather is here to stay with temperatures expected to hit 20C and above across Greater Manchester over the coming days.
With glorious sunshine to look forward to, a Manchester hotel has decided to open its rooftop terrace for walk-ins all this week. King Street Townhouse Hotel is opening up its tucked away 6th-floor terrace every day this week so visitors can soak up the views and grab a drink or two, and order one of its grazing boards.
The terrace is usually reserved for guests of the hotel, but this week it will be open to everyone for walk-ins, everyday except Wednesday. The south-facing suntrap will be open from 6-10pm this evening (Tuesday, May 30), and from 2-10pm Thursday through to Sunday.

The 6th floor terrace offers stunning views of Manchester city centre and features an overhead canopy as well as outdoor heating for when it cools down in the evening. Drinks menus at the hotel include seasonal and classic cocktails, such as 'No Peach Lemonade' with Malibu, pineapple and lemon juice, Aperol, Grenadine and lemonade, 'Alex's Margarita', and 'Monkey Spritz' with whiskey, Crème de Mûre and lime juice.
The boutique hotel, based inside a 140-year-old Grade II-listed building, is ranked the 9th best on TripAdvisor for Manchester, with reviewers hailing it one of Manchester's "hidden gems" tucked away in the upper King Street conversation area.
It is perhaps most well known for its top floor events suite and infinity pool - that looks out onto Manchester Town Hall. Owned by e-commerce group, The Hut Group, the luxury bolthole also features a subterranean wellness space, a state-of-the-art gym facility, a screening room, and a hidden wine cellar.
You can also stretch with the city skyline as your backdrop at one of the hotel's yoga classes, which takes place on the terrace. The one-hour class, run by FORM in Manchester, is suitable for all abilities and is followed by brunch with a smoothie, plus special gifts for certain classes. Attendees can also upgrade their ticket for the upcoming class on June 4, to include two hours access to The Gym and Spa at King Street Townhouse
The 6th-floor terrace to walk-ins is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week for drinks and grazing boards. Opening times for the terrace at King Street Townhouse are as follows:
Tuesday, 30 May - 6-10pm
Thursday, 1 June - 2-10pm
Friday, 2 June - 2-10pm
Saturday, 3 June - 2-10pm
