Luxury hotel and seafood restaurant set to open in Scottish town next year

A NEW five-star boutique hotel is set to open in a Scottish town next year.

The luxury Seaton House is due to open its doors in St Andrews in autumn 2024.

The Victorian townhouse, which was once known as the Scores Hotel, looks over the first tee of the Old Course.

Valor Hospitality Partners, who are spearheading the venture, decided to return the hotel to the building’s original name as a nod to St Andrews’ rich history.

It is expected to create approximately 70 jobs who will oversee the upkeep of 40 luxury bedrooms and three suites.

Five rooms will also boast their own private terraces.

Renowned chef Roy Brett, who runs the acclaimed seafood restaurant Ondine Oyster and Grill in Edinburgh, is also set to open Ondine St Andrews in the hotel.

Brett’s first venture since opening the Edinburgh location in 2009, the restaurant is expected to celebrate local produce.

Euan McGlashan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Valor Hospitality Partners, said: “Having lived away from Scotland for over 30 years, it is a thrill to be back working on such an incredible project in the beautiful St Andrews.

“Our wonderful owners have been intimately involved in all the design details, ensuring their love of hospitality and golf, particularly in Scotland and Ireland, is projected in a way that is residential in feel with a very distinct sense of place and all the modern conveniences our guests will expect.

“The town of St Andrews have been supportive all along and we are eager to make the local residents very proud of Seaton House.

“The incredible food and beverage offerings are aimed at guests and locals alike, and we hope that Ondine becomes a fan favourite in the town.”
