A FAMILY-RUN Scottish hotel has been sold to a major luxury hospitality operator.
Built in 1880, Knockendarroch Hotel in Pitlochry is nestled in the heart of the Perthshire countryside.
The owner of the “world-renowned” five-star Inverlochy Castle has acquired the hotel.
From January 20, 2025, the hotel will join the group of luxury hotels run by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI), including Crossbasket Castle, Isle of Eriska Hotel and Spa.
The hotel is set to reopen on February 7, 2025.
Norbert Leider, managing director of ICMI, commented: “We are so happy to welcome Knockendarroch and its excellent team to the ICMI fold.
“With hotels across some of Scotland’s most popular rural locations, it feels like we are meant to have a presence in beautiful Pitlochry.
“The previous owners significantly upgrade the hotel, and it is extremely well run. We look forward to continuing to deliver the same high standard of service.”
Previous owners Struan and Louise Lothian said: “We have owned Knockendarroch for ten years and loved every minute.
“The business has grown consistently over that time and thrived as part of an increasingly bustling visitor offering in Pitlochry.
“ICMI is one of the best management companies in the hotel business and we believe they will take Knockendarroch to the next level.”
The hotel currently has planning permission to build an additional eight bedrooms, which ICMI hopes to develop in the future.
