Luxurious Jubilee afternoon teas launched at Harvey Nichols Bristol

From street parties to special church services, Bristol already has numerous events lined up to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s reign next month. With a four-day bank holiday weekend in the first week of June, celebrations will be popping up across the city.

One of the grandest of them all is sure to be the Jubilee afternoon tea being launched at Harvey Nichols Bristol. The flagship Cabot Circus store will be serving them on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout June.

A feast fit for royalty, the posh department store’s Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea experience will include a range of savoury and sweet treats. For an additional cost, you can even toast the Queen’s 70 years on the throne with a glass of Nyetimber English sparkling wine.

Served in the luxurious gold-coloured restaurant and bar on the second floor of Harvey Nichols, the celebratory afternoon teas will start with a selection of ‘classical’ sandwiches. These include Coronation chicken, egg mayonnaise and watercress, and cucumber, mint, poppy seeds and mascarpone.

They will be followed by a savoury snack of tomato and basil tart before the sweet treats are served. As with everything on the menu, these are all made on the premises by the Harvey Nichols chefs.

The selection of sweet treats include chocolate biscuit cake, raspberry custard tart, lemon posset, blueberry compote and strawberry Victoria sponge cake. And if these weren’t enough, there will also be homemade brown sugar scones with clotted cream, salt caramel and Harvey Nichols jams.

Served between 3pm and 4.30pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout June, the afternoon teas cost £35 per person or £45 with a glass of Nyetimber sparkling wine.
