What's it like to sleep on the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set?
Now that I've tested the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set through spring and summer as well as fall and winter, I'd put it up there with the best cooling sheets. The natural moisture-wicking of bamboo helps to keep my night sweats under control. More than breathable, these sheets are genuinely cool to the touch. They were just the thing to get me through a summer heat wave, but I'd prefer something warmer for winter.
Made from bamboo viscose and finished with a sateen weave, the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set looks and feels luxurious. The sheets are smooth and silky against my skin. Still, if you like your sheets to have a little more texture, I suggest you shop for the best linen sheets, instead.
In the image above you can see my only real complaint: the creases. As a general rule, bamboo bedding is prone to wrinkling: the fault isn't specific to the Luxury Sheet Set. Normally, I'd tell you it's nothing an iron couldn't fix, but Luxome make it very clear that these sheets ought not to be ironed or dry cleaned. You could throw them in the dryer with the rest of your delicates, and maybe a dryer ball or two, but you'll need to whisk them straight out of the machine to prevent further creasing. Alternatively, you could line dry your sheets: that's what I do to freshen things up.
The Luxome Luxury Sheet Set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases. It comes in every size, from Twin to California King, including Split King. I tested the set in stone gray, but you could shop the sheets in blush pink or sapphire blue, as well as a wide range of cool neutrals to complement any color palette.

'Super smooth,' begins another, 'but holy cow they are cold! We keep our room at 64 and that was fine for both my husband and I with our previous sheets, these sheets though almost freeze my husband out. I love the coolness but we did have to turn the room heat up a little.' The cold feel of the sheets seems to be the most common customer complaint. Still, if you suffer from night sweats or hot flashes, you'll appreciate the cooling comfort.
Should I buy the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set?
I'd recommend the Luxome Luxury Sheet Set to almost anyone, especially hot sleepers and eco-conscious shoppers. I've tested these bamboo viscose sheets through fall, winter, spring, and summer, and I've never once woken up in a sweat.
A Queen sheet set from Luxome retails for $170, which is perfectly reasonable for bamboo bedding. Still, if you're buying on a budget, you might be better off with a set of the best affordable bed sheets.
How we test bed sheets
As H&G's resident Sleep Editor, I lead a team of expert testers in the search to find the world's best bed sheets. We sample sheets in our own homes for a minimum of 30 nights before we write our initial reviews to give the most accurate indication of long-term performance. For the sake of a fair fight, we assess each sheet set against the same criteria: look and feel; thermoregulation; and durability.

Then, we switch off our HVAC systems to sleep through heat waves and cold snaps, measuring the thermoregulation by counting the nights when we wake up in a sweat. Finally, we strip the bed to launder the sheets according to the instructions on the care tag. Then, we remake the bed to carry on testing, considering how the look and feel of the sheets has changed through wear and tear.
