As prices soar for everyday food items in supermarkets, people have been struggling to make ends meet. Items as simple as butter have dramatically risen in prices.
Shoppers have noticed Lurpak in particular has had a change in prices. As the prices rise some shoppers may switch to an alternative butter that’s cheaper to cut on costs.
In Nottingham City Centre, shoppers shared what they had found to be a variety of prices for Lurpak across the different supermarkets. In Sainsbury’s on Wheeler Gate, the much loved brand can be found on offer for a 500g tub for £4 instead of £5.45. For a 220g tub it was £2.25. Shoppers found it was the same on Clumber Street and Carlton Street.

Shoppers previously found a a tub of Lurpak being sold at £5 at a frozen food store and branded it 'insane' for the price.
In Tesco in Victoria Centre the price for a 500g tub was £5.05, this was the same for Tesco on Shakespeare Street. Shoppers also found in Little Waitrose Lurpak on Milton Street was the cheapest. The butter was on offer for £3.91 instead of £4.39, saving 48p.
