John Lundstram hails Rangers triumph over RB Leipzig as best moment of career

JOHN LUNDSTRAM branded the win over RB Leipzig to make the Europa League final as the best night of his career.

The Rangers midfielder slammed home the all-important winner to see his side through with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

And he hailed an electric night at Ibrox as the top moment of his time in football as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side booked their spot in Seville later this month.

"It's the best night by a country mile," said Lundstram of the incredible result.

"Playing in Premier League was a massive achievement for myself but to get into the Europa League final, wow, unbelievable.

"It's crazy, we've been through some ups and downs this season and to come out to the end of it and be in the Europa League final, wow, what an achievement.

"I can't put it into words, honestly...

"I came into tonight with a good feeling that we could get a result here, of course we can, look at the place.

"But to actually go out and do it, I honestly can't put into words how much it means."

The fact that last night's victory was Rangers' 60th match of the season only made it all the more impressive, and Lundstram is hoping it's just another step to a memorable European title.

Quizzed on heading to a final - against Eintracht Frankfurt - he said: "We can do it, why not, of course we can.

"I didn't even realise it was that many (games played) but the lads give absolutely everything every time we step foot on the grass.

"It doesn't;t go our way sometimes but we give everything every single time."

And Lundstram went on to dedicate his strike to late Rangers kit man Jimmy Bell who passed earlier this week.

He said: "Words can't describe how much Jimmy meant to all of us, he was the bedrock of the club.

"I can't speak highly enough of him, I just want to dedicate the goal to him tonight, I absolutely loved him to bits."
