Striker Rhys Davies netted SIX as Luncarty thumped Oakley to book a place in the Alex Jack Cup semi-final.
And manager Robbie Holden said after the 8-1 win: “When he is in that mood you don’t stop him.”
Davies had scored the opening six of the afternoon at Brownlands Park before being taken off with 75 minutes on the clock. Olly Hamilton grabbed the last two.
The victory books the Bleachers a last four meet with Bo’ness Athletic.
Double hat-trick hero Davies laughed: “We got a penalty just after I came off. I’m the penalty taker so I was a bit annoyed that I didn’t get seven!
“It’s actually the most I’ve scored in a competitive game so it was a good day for me and great that we are into the semi-final.
“It was a very good team performance, we played some really good football and it’s now a great chance for us to go all the way in the competition.”
Holden hailed the overall performance as “relentless” and said: “We scored early and just kept going for the 90 minutes.
“We felt we had a point to prove after a disappointing performance in our last game and the full squad did that. It was a very strong showing.”
The Bleachers boss made sure to give Davies the best possible chance of hitting number six.
He explained to the PA: “Rhys was going to come off after his fifth but he pleaded to stay on.
“We gave him another 10 minutes and he managed to get the sixth.
“When he is in that mood you don’t stop him. To score six goals in 75 minutes was outstanding.
“He came off and I said ‘good to see you again’ because he had been quiet in the last game.
“We saw the real Rhys again. He just loves scoring goals.”
