There are a lot of professions in Luma Island that players can experience, including Cook, Brewer, Blacksmith, and even Fisherman.
The latter is arguably one of the more iconic activities in the farming simulator genre and is found in similar games, such as Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. Luma Island tries to set itself apart as fishing is a more relaxed means of engaging with the game.
What makes this profession even better is that it is an amazing money-making method in the early game compared to others. This is what makes the Fisherman a great choice for a starting profession for beginners.
This guide offers some basic guidance on the Fisherman profession that will help newcomers get comfortable with it on Luma Island. These include information on how to fish, different baits and fish types, recipes, and more.
How To Fish
To start fishing on Luma Island, you will first have to finish the tutorial that gives you all the necessary tools to start the activity, such as the Fishing Rod. You also need some bait to catch fish and they can be found throughout the game's world, according to Sportskeeda.
You can start this activity by attaching bait to the rod, facing any body of water, and casting your line. When a fish notices your bait and latches onto it, a minigame will start.
You need to chase the fish around as it swims around. You also need to follow it while keeping the bobber as close to the fish as possible.
Even if you try to cast your line in a body of water that does not have fish, you can still get some pretty nifty rewards, such as jellyfish, squid, and stingrays. The ones that you get will depend on the biome where the body of water is located.
Getting Sunken Farm Treasure Through Fishing
You will sometimes see air bubbles on a pond or the sea, which is where you can grab a Sunken Farm Treasure. You first need to craft a Copper Magnet and attach it to your Fishing Rod as bait to do so, Game Rant said.
You can craft up to five of these at once when you use a Copper Bar at the Ore Smelter. Fishing for Sunken Farm Treasure is similar to regular fishing which is to find a body of water. The only difference is that you will be looking for the air bubble spot in particular.
Fishing Baits
There are three types of bait that you can gather on Luma Island; Caterpillar, Grasshopper, and Earthworm. You will need a Bug Net to catch these little critters and they can be found in various areas.
Caterpillars are located in the player's farm and in town while grasshoppers are found within the forest. Earthworms on the other hand require you to trek the mountain in order to get them, according to The Gamer.
