You can start this activity by attaching bait to the rod, facing any body of water, and casting your line. When a fish notices your bait and latches onto it, a minigame will start.
You need to chase the fish around as it swims around. You also need to follow it while keeping the bobber as close to the fish as possible.
Even if you try to cast your line in a body of water that does not have fish, you can still get some pretty nifty rewards, such as jellyfish, squid, and stingrays. The ones that you get will depend on the biome where the body of water is located.
