Notts County boss Luke Williams has revealed his side still have areas in which they can improve on, despite their 3-0 opening day victory against Maidenhead at Meadow Lane.
Two goals from Macauley Langstaff and a stunner from Joel Taylor saw the Magpies ease to victory, but the Notts boss was keen to point out areas of improvement ahead of their trip to Boreham Wood this weekend.
Speaking to NottsLive this afternoon ahead of this weekend's match, Williams said: "I think that was pretty much the perfect start in terms of the result.

"I thought we produced some very good moments within the game and we scored some good goals and I think we had two actions that were very good that would have resulted in another two well-worked goals.
"Overall, there was lots of things that we need to improve on in terms of the performance, but I am pleased that we limited the opponents to very few chances, but again, we can improve on that as well.
"We need to definitely improve our intensity with the ball and our tempo with the ball.
"We need to move the ball quicker and with better detail, which I think is important in terms of the way that we build up. Then defensively, there were times when we were in the wrong position which meant the opponent got higher up the pitch than I would like, but credit to Maidenhead because they can cause you problems."
This weekend's trip to the LV Bet Stadium will provide Williams with another stern test, with the home side starting off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Southend United after having two players sent off including former Notts man, Dion Kelly-Evans.
And whilst the Magpies were undefeated against Luke Garrard's side last campaign, Williams insists it will be no easy ride for his players.
"I think they will be fairly direct, and they will be extremely good at it. The will have players who will have taken their mentality from the manager, who is excellent and he is going to make sure that they are aggressive and able to go forward quickly.
"They are going to try and make the game very difficult for us. I think Maidenhead tried to make the game difficult for us and for the most part we controlled it and stopped them from turning it into the type of game they would of liked.
"But, Boreham Wood will try and make it uncomfortable for us, but we know that."
Following a successful pre-season campaign and an opening day victory, Williams was asked about his start to life at the Meadow Lane helm.
"Sometimes you are not aware of the enjoyment as much because you focused a lot and you are trying to push everyone else and yourself, but the main thing is when you are in this position is to have people around you who are really working hard and support you, and that is what you have here.
"The first cold beer after you have won a game is the best beer you will ever have, and then 15 minutes later you are worried about the next fixture. It was fantastic to get the first victory at home and to get a clean sheet as well, that was hugely important and to try and enjoy the moment afterwards.
"But that is done and now we are focused on the game against Boreham Wood."
