Notts County boss Luke Williams has identified Quevin Castro's creativity and power as an attractive prospect for his side after his switch to Meadow Lane was confirmed on Monday morning.
The 21-year-old signed for the Magpies on loan from West Bromwich Albion, penning a three-month deal despite returning to the Hawthorns on deadline day, making just five appearances on loan at League One side, Burton Albion.
And the Portuguese midfielder will be looking to make an impact in the National League, with the potential of making his first-team debut coming against Aldershot on Tuesday night, after Notts' fixture with Bromley at the weekend was postponed.

When asked about the signing, the Notts boss believes that Castro's creativity in and around the forward areas was something he felt could give his side even more of a threat going forward.
"I think that he has got real power, and the ability to manipulate the ball in tight positions," said Williams.
"I think he is a creative guy and will try to get an assist or be around the box to score, but of course we need to get him at the right time on the pitch to allow him to show us what he is all about."
Nine goals in their last two games have seen Notts blow away both Dagenham and Redbridge and Halifax Town, with summer signing Macaulay Langstaff a real figurehead in the number nine position, Adam Chicksen has provided a threat from the full-back position, and Kairo Mitchell continues to give his manager a selection headache with three goals from the bench this season.
Normally a central midfielder, Williams suggested that Castro would be used as a more forward-thinking midfielder, insisting that despite being the joint-second top scorers in the league, it was important to gain reinforcements in that area should injuries start to occur with the congested fixture schedule.
"Maybe to take your eye off the ball in a time when it seems most obvious to relax a little bit is a real mistake.
"Whilst we are in a good position in terms of attacking threat, if one player or two players become unavailable but at the moment we are in a really good position.
"But if you lose a player or two, and all of a sudden the starting line-up could look very different so to try and bolster the squad and bring in the guys we really feel like they suit what we are doing and come in and be able to replicate what somebody else is already doing, that is the key thing.
"We have really tried to narrow down the search, and we believe Quevin is that guy."
Castro becomes the Magpies' ninth signing of the summer, with Williams concluding a lot of his business early on, however the Notts boss did allude to potential incomings at Meadow Lane, but only if it is the right thing to do both for the club, and the player.
"We are looking at players all the time, and some of those players eventually become not an option because something has changed, or they went somewhere else.
"It's always a moving jigsaw, but we are looking at players and I am sure that if we feel like it is exactly the right thing to do, we will be doing that.
"The schedule now is going to get more challenging now because of the Bromley game as well."
