Notts County boss Luke Williams has expressed his delight at remaining top of the National League table after a week of 'correct' preparations and challenging tests against Altrincham, Wrexham and Woking.
The Magpies made it nine points from their last three games against Woking on Saturday afternoon, with Ruben Rodrigues and Cedwyn Scott on target for Notts in what was far from a vintage performance.
Because of Chesterfield's loss to Eastleigh, Notts have opened up a four-point gap to the Spireites at the top of the National League but Wrexham are still breathing down their necks after an end-to-end 7-5 win over Barnet this afternoon.

Notts will stay top for at least two weeks now with the FA Cup fourth qualifying rounds taking place next weekend, with the Magpies hosting Coalville Town at Meadow Lane.
Speaking after the game, Williams said preparations from his staff and players during the weekend enabled them to obtain maximum points, but explained the challenges given to his side over the last week.
"I am so pleased because the games were all different and they gave us different challenges and we were correct as a group of staff and correct about how the game will look and what the opposition would do," he said.
"And then we were able to prepare in the correct way, but of course all the preparation in the world means nothing if they don't fulfil the role and they fulfilled that role incredibly during those games."
Following the half-time whistle, Williams allowed his players to head to the dressing room on their own, choosing to stay out and speak to his staff before heading out the tunnel.
Williams explained it was nothing to do with being angry towards his team but trying to identify the threat Woking possessed and how to nullify them in the second half.
"Yeah, I just spoke to the staff for some perspective because some of the guys are around the stadium in different areas and the big thing, we felt is that they pressed so incredibly well but they left huge spaces," he added.
"If they pressed hard to the right, there was space on the left and if they pressed players forward, they left a lot of space at the back, and we were all seeing the same thing.
"We thought maybe it is not about us being too proud and try to build-up and give them an opportunity to get the ball off us in the middle of the pitch, playing from one side of the pitch to the other and create more than we normally do, but the goals were there for us."
