Luke Williams explains dressing room mindset following Torquay win

Luke Williams has said his Notts County dressing room remains calm despite the Magpies winning their seventh league game in a row, this time against Torquay at Meadow Lane.

Two goals in each half, from Connell Rawlinson and Ruben Rodrigues, then Quevin Castro and Geraldo Bajrami, ensured Notts remained top of the National League, and with a visit from Bromley to come on Tuesday evening.

The Magpies have now scored 10 times in their last two games through eight different scorers, putting to bed the 'one-man' team labels in relation to Macaulay Langstaff's goal exploits this season.

Meanwhile, Gary Johnson's side remain rooted to the foot of the table without a win in 10 games now, with the Gulls boss under increasing pressure to keep his job.

Speaking after the game, Williams explained that he told his players the challenge Torquay would pose to his side, and insisted that if any of his players ease up in their efforts during the preparations to games, they will be out of his matchday squad all together.

"The players understood that today was going to be tough," said Williams.

"It was a very tough game and they had to earn that, and it wasn't given to them easily.

"We have to know that there is another tough game coming and I spoke to the players in the dressing room after the game and they are not bouncing around.

"They know that they had to work really hard to get that result today and they know they are going to have to work hard on Tuesday night if they want a similar result.

"They are fully aware of that, and if anyone is showing signs that they don't want to work hard and it is too easy, they are out of the team and it's simple as that."
