Luke Williams addresses John Bostock rumours and provides Connell Rawlinson injury update

Luke Williams has confirmed talks have been held with John Bostock following a two-week period training with Notts County.

The 30 year-old is currently without a club after leaving Doncaster Rovers earlier this year and trained with the Magpies during their break from National League football.

The midfielder has a wealth of experience playing in the EFL and would provide Notts with another midfield option as Williams looks to bolster his squad for the second part of the campaign.

And while Williams confirmed talks have been held with the player's agent, he thinks a player of Bostock's quality will not be short of offers during the transfer window.

"It's true that John has spent some time training with us," explained Williams.

"He has been very impressive as I'm sure you would imagine and from now, we have people talking to John and his agent, but I am sure a player of that quality will have lots of different opportunities available to him.

"So, we will see. We were fortunate enough to have him to come and train and look at what we are trying to do and how we are trying to work.

"Somebody with the talent and the career behind him that John has, for him to be able to come in and be completely comfortable within himself and with the players and staff, is really impressive.

"That was a very positive experience, we were really happy to have him and saw a lot of good qualities as you can expect but we have to see what happens with now."

Rumours circulated on social media early last week that defender Connell Rawlinson was seen hobbling at hospital, with many concerned about the fitness of the 31-year-old.

Rawlinson returned from injury back in September and was an integral part of the Magpies' seven-game unbeaten run.

And Williams confirmed that the defender had suffered an injury in training, but insists the severity of the problem still needs to be identified with the trip to hospital just a precaution.

"Unfortunately, Connell had a clash with one of the guys in training that left him with a lot of pain in the calf," Williams said.

"The trip to the hospital was more to rule stuff out more than it to be an emergency and rule out things that could be more severe.

"We are on top of the situation, and we have to try and wait a bit longer before we exactly know the extent of the injury.

"It could be very minor, or something slightly more serious. It is nothing to be overly concerned about."
