Luke Shaw to sign new Manchester United contract

Manchester United are on the verge of agreeing a new long-term contract with Luke Shaw.

Shaw, 27, is out of contract next year but sources say he is set to sign a new four-year deal.

The left-back joined United from Southampton for £27million rising to £31m in 2014 and he has won the Europa League and the League Cup.

Shaw has played 248 times for United, scoring four goals, having overcome a double-leg break sustained in a 2-1 Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven in September 2015.

Having missed the 2016 FA Cup final and 2017 Europa League final through injury and been omitted from the 2017 League Cup final and 2018 FA Cup final matchday squads, Shaw started in the 2021 Europa League final defeat to Villarreal.

The England international finally started in a winning United final in the League Cup defeat of Newcastle last month.

United triggered the one-year extension in Shaw's contract earlier this season and the club are also in discussions over renewals for Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot and David de Gea.
