Luke Shaw's honest verdict of Ralf Rangnick after his calls to work with Mauricio Pochettino

Luke Shaw insists "everything is positive" at Manchester United despite countless claims of problems behind the scenes at Old Trafford, adding Ralf Rangnick has "impressed" him.

United have struggled to improve following Rangnick's takeover from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and threw two points away against Burnley on Tuesday, just days after Middlesbrough knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Reports from ESPN this Friday claim certain individuals at United have become disillusioned by training sessions at Carrington, which have been deemed "old-fashioned".

And some stars are miffed that Rangnick's number two - the inexperienced Chris Armas - has so much influence on sessions.

But despite reports of discontent, Shaw is adamant that things are fine at Old Trafford.

Have Your Say! Will Man United finish in the top four of the Premier League this season? Let us know here.

Shaw told talkSPORT: "There have been a lot of things said about Ralf doing different things, sending people home with homework and the players being angry and unhappy about it, but it is false. Everything is positive here.

"I am really impressed with how he has come in, what he has changed, the details he brings and what he wants the lads to do is really good. Of course, as I said, the team are all together and the team is fully with the manager and his staff.

"Everything that has been written in the media isn't true because I see a completely different side of the team and with the manager inside here than what I read on the outside."

Rangnick's temporary charge of Manchester United will come to an end at the close of the season when he will then move upstairs to work a consultancy role.

The German will have a say on who replaces him for the long-term in the Red Devils dugout, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag two names high up on United's wishlist.

Shaw has previously worked with Pochettino at Southampton, and wrote about him in Spanish journalist Guillem Balague's book 'Brave New World: Inside Pochettino's Spurs.'

Shaw said of Pochettino in the book's epilogue, via Mail Online: "He used to call me his son, 'That's how good our relationship was. I've had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up.

"He made me feel that I was the best. He'd show me clips of my games and say, 'You could do this better'. Not in a horrible way. Not I could have done better, but I should have done better because he knows I can be better.

"I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible. We were one of the best footballing teams in the league… I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again."
