Luke Shaw makes Marcus Rashford prediction after Manchester United win vs Bournemouth

Manchester United's Luke Shaw thinks Marcus Rashford is going in the right direction to become a world-class player.

Rashford lost his starting place with former interim manager Ralf Rangnick in charge last season, contributing just five goals and two assists across the full campaign, but he's benefited from Erik ten Hag's appointment and now looks back to his best.

After returning to full fitness and with an uninterrupted pre-season under his belt, Rashford has scored 12 goals and recorded four assists already this term and he was also in excellent form representing England at the World Cup in Qatar.

Rashford scored United's third goal against Bournemouth on Tuesday night and his fourth in four games and Shaw lauded his teammate after the victory.

"Yeah, 100 per cent, I think he (Rashford]) is in a really good place," Shaw told MUTV. "He's extremely confident, looking so sharp and he kind of smells out the areas to be in to score the goals and I think you saw that tonight with the goal.

"He was in the right area, at the right time and he's getting on the scoresheet more and more. He's adding that to his game now and I think he's going in the direction of a world-class payer, so hopefully, he can keep it up.

"The good thing is, there are games around the corner, especially with the momentum we have at the moment, I think we want the games to come thick and fast. We're enjoying where we are and there's more to improve on to get where we want to be."
