Luke Shaw Injury Update: Defender Suffers Another Set Back

Luke Shaw has reportedly suffered another injury set back and is set to miss Manchester United’s away trip to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Luke Shaw Suffers Another Injury Set Back

The Manchester United defender has recently returned to the squad after almost a year out with injury and was set to make his first start under Ruben Amorim.

After suffering a broken leg against PSV in the 2015 Champions League group stage, Shaw has endured a horrendous time with injury.

His best run of form came between 2021-2023, scoring for England in the Euro 2021 final and then putting in some superb performances in Erik ten Hag’s debut season (2022/23).

However, in the 2024/25 campaign already the Englishman has missed 17 games and his appearance against Ipswich was his first in almost 300 days.

The news of his latest injury set back came through Twitter, with a United fan confirming the news and several other supporters reacting furiously.

Shaw has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford due to his problems with injury and this could be the final nail in the coffin.

Amorim may be looking for a replacement on the left-hand side, with the Portuguese manager utilising a back three and requires a lot for his wing-backs.

As previously mentioned, Shaw was set to start against Arsenal following Lisandro Martinez’s yellow card in United’s 4-0 win over Everton – meaning the Argentina defender is suspended for the trip to the Emirates.

Kobbie Mainoo will also the miss match through suspension, meaning United are missing a host of key players for this top six clash.

Shaw’s reported injury would be bad new for United but also leaves huge doubt over his international career, as Thomas Tuchel will be forming his first squad in the early stages of 2025.

The United defender was involved in England’s run to the Euro 2024 final but was not selected in any of Lee Carsley’s squads.
