Luke Shaw thinks Manchester United's defeat against Arsenal was a 'reality check' for where the club actually is this season.
After the victory in the Manchester derby, there was talk of a potential challenge for the Premier League title, despite Erik ten Hag being in his first season in charge at Old Trafford, which was expected to be a transitional campaign.
But talk of a title charge has quickly died down after a draw against Crystal Palace in midweek and a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, where Ten Hag's side conceded a 90th-minute goal to leave London empty-handed.

Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez got on the scoresheet for United but their goals were not enough for a draw.
Eddie Nketiah, who scored a brace, produced a late matchwinner and Shaw thinks the defeat will give United a 'reality check'.
"You have to give them credit for what they've done this season, we're only halfway but I think they deserve to be at the top from the way they play and how they play. But like I just said, we're only halfway through the season," Shaw told Sky Sports.
"There is a long, long way to go and we have to focus on our next game, as we've got a semi-final coming up. The quality of these games are improving, it was a tough game to be involved in, but these are the games every player wants to play in.
"It's to themselves against the best and we're all very gutted in the dressing room now. It's a bit of a reality check.
"So we have to get back to work tomorrow with a big game this Wednesday."
