Luke Shaw delivers honest verdict on Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick

Left-back Luke Shaw has heaped praise on the shoulders of Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick, insisting he has been "really impressed" with the changes and methods he has brought to Old Trafford.

Following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's exit in the aftermath of United's 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road in November, United turned to Rangnick, appointing him on a deal until the end of the season, before planning to source the Norwegian's permanent replacement this summer.

Rangnick, tasked with the challenge of securing United a top-four finish and helping them rediscover an identity, has experienced a mixed start to life at Old Trafford, winning six, drawing four and losing two of his first 12 games at the helm.

Despite only losing two of his first 12 games in charge, one of which was via a penalty shoot-out, a fair amount of criticism has been directed at the German, largely because of the style of play United have adopted under him.

But whilst figures outside Old Trafford have been critical of the former RB Leipzig and Schalke chief, United defender Shaw, who will be hoping to face former club Southampton on Saturday lunchtime, has been impressed by the German's methods and what he has brought to the table.

Shaw told talkSPORT : "There have been a lot of things said about Ralf doing different things, sending people home with homework and the players being angry and unhappy about it, but it is false.

"Everything is positive here.

"I am really impressed with how he has come in, what he has changed, the details he brings and what he wants the lads to do is really good.

"Of course, like I said, the team are altogether and the team is fully with the manager and his staff.

"Everything that has been written in the media isn't true because I see a completely different side of the team and with the manager inside here than what I read on the outside."
