Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic recorded his 79th career triple-double during Saturday night’s 125-118 win over the Toronto Raptors, passing Wilt Chamberlain and James Harden for seventh on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list. The five-time All-Star reached his triple-double on a defensive rebound with 1:58 left in the third.
Luka Doncic now trails Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd on the NBA’s all-time triple-doubles list
Doncic ended his outing with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals for his second straight triple-double, as the Mavericks extended their winning streak to seven games. Next on the all-time list is Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, who had 107 triple-doubles in his 19-year NBA career.
“I guess I’ve got to sit him,” Kidd said jokingly after the game. “That’s an incredible feat for Luka. When you talk about his skill set, filling up the stat sheet, he’s had two here, he can run them off.

“We always expect him to have a triple-double, or we sometimes take him for granted for triple-doubles. I think right now you can see that he’s starting to get into a groove.”
Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook has an NBA-record 200 triple-doubles, according to Basketball-Reference. Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson is second with 181, followed by Nikola Jokic (139), Magic Johnson (138), and LeBron James (119).
Doncic picked up his 300th career game with at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists
Per Mavs PR, Doncic also posted his 300th career game with at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists in his 418th career game. Doncic (25 years, 283 days old) becomes the second-fastest player to reach this milestone in terms of age (LeBron James; 25 years, 61 days old) and games played (Oscar Robertson; 342 games).
Additionally, Doncic registered his 47th career 30-point triple-double and is now one 30-point triple-double shy of tying Westbrook (48) for the second-most 30-point triple-doubles in NBA history.
Through 18 games (all starts), Doncic is averaging 28.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 8.1 assists, a career-high 1.9 steals, and 36.7 minutes per contest while shooting 45% from the field, 34.8% from deep, and 76.4% at the foul line.
Doncic will go for his third straight triple-double when the Mavericks face the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder in an NBA Cup matchup Tuesday night.
