Luisa Zissman has had her dead horse stuffed and now keeps him in her living room

Luisa Zissman has shared her 'weird' tribute to her beloved pet horse Madrono after he passed away in 2019.

The former Apprentice contestant, 35, was left devastated after the white stallion was put to sleep following a battle with cancer, but she has since had him stuffed and installed in her living room.

Luisa shared a video of Madrono to Instagram on Wednesday as he took pride of place in his new home. His stuffed body is now placed looking out of a window.

Captioning the post. Luisa said: "Good Morning. Beautiful Madrono seeing him everyday makes my heart pang but also reminds me how much I love him.

"I know, I’m a bit weird."

She also tagged taxidermist Simon Wilson helped to immortalise Madrono in a process which took two months.

Despite Luisa herself calling the tribute "a bit weird", fans seemed to think it was a sweet idea. One person commented: "I lost my beautiful girl on Monday so I know how you feel it must be lovely to still have him with you x"

Another said: "Wow! It’s fascinating that it’s your horse. Doesn’t matter what Others think it’s what makes you happy."

A third fan wrote: "It’s not weird it’s beautiful," while someone else commented: "He is stunning he looks beautiful there."

Speaking on Good Morning Britain last year, Luisa admitted she struggled to say goodbye to Madrono.

"I suppose everyone deals with grief in different ways. He's so majestic and so beautiful so I didn’t want to let go of him," she said.

"When I knew Madrono had to be put to sleep I went to Simon and said I couldn’t bear to not see him again. I couldn’t describe it, I just wanted him with me forever."

Luisa added that it made her "really happy" to see him stuffed for the first time. She compared him to a work of art and said he's "a sculpture".

She added: "I just wanted him to live forever I guess and be this amazing piece of art, this sculpture, I was so privileged to own him.

"I was pretty grief stricken, I had quite a hard time after Madrono died, some people might find that strange but we're a nation of animal lovers so I hope some people with understand."
