Luis Suarez tipped for shock Premier League return with bottom-half club

Aston Villa are seen as hot favourites to land the signature of former forward Liverpool Luis Suarez.

The 34-year-old, who currently plays for reigning La Liga champions Atletico Madrid is said to be keen on a move back to the Premier League during the January transfer window.

According to reports relayed by site Football Espana, the ex-Barcelona man has reportedly turned down 'multiple offers' from Brazil and Saudi Arabia to concentrate on a potential advance from Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa.

Suarez's current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano expires this summer, with Villa boss Gerrard keen to link back up with his former Reds teammate.

Having departed Anfield for Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2014, the Uruguayan forward has since collected 5 La Liga titles and a UEFA Champions League success along the way.

With 9 goals in 27 games so far this season for Los Colchoneros, Gerrard is seemingly using his Liverpool links wisely having already signed another former Reds player in Philippe Coutinho earlier this month.

Suarez was an ever popular figure during his time on Merseyside, and formed a formidable partnership with Daniel Sturridge during the 2013-14 season, netting 55 goals between them.

With another former Barcelona man Lucas Digne also joining the Villains, the former Liverpool captain has wasted no time in setting out his intentions at Villa Park.

Currently occupying 13th position, the West Midlanders most recently drew 2-2 with Manchester United last weekend and face Liverpool in the Premier League once more on April 16.
