Luis Suárez Believes Inter Miami Can Win First MLS Cup

Uruguay forward Luis Suárez has expressed confidence in Inter Miami's ability to secure their first MLS Cup victory this season as he commences his inaugural campaign with the club. Suárez, who signed with Miami in December as a free agent, recently made his MLS debut in a 2-0 triumph over Real Salt Lake.

Following the match, Suárez conveyed his optimism, stating, 'There is no better ambition and desire than to come to a team that won its first title last year [the Leagues Cup] and try to win the MLS, a title that the club has never achieved. That is the desire, the challenge that I and the rest of the team have, to achieve that first [league] title at club level which would be very important in MLS.'

Inter Miami concluded last season in 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings, falling short of the playoffs. Suárez, who netted 29 goals in 54 appearances for Brazilian club Gremio last year, acknowledges the obstacles ahead.

'I already knew MLS,' Suárez remarked. 'All the teams are going to want to win. They are going to come to compete because we are one of those that can fight for the title. They know we want that, that we have that ambition.'

The 37-year-old expressed his delight in reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, emphasizing their camaraderie both on and off the pitch. 'We are very good friends on and off the field. We enjoy life and we want to help Inter Miami win,' Suárez affirmed.
