Luis Sinisterra hopeful of 'many more' as Leeds United winger nets first Colombia goal

Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra is hopeful of continuing his excellent run of form after netting his first goal for Colombia at the weekend. Sinisterra came off the bench at half time during the early hours of Sunday morning as Colombia defeated Guatemala 4-1.

It took Sinisterra just 12 minutes to get on the scoresheet as he steered home from inside the area to put his side 2-0 ahead. The 23-year-old has now scored in each of his last three appearances for club and country.

Sinisterra made the switch to Elland Road from Feyenoord during the summer and after an injury hit opening couple of weeks, has been in excellent form. He marked his first Premier League start with the equaliser against Everton, before then finding the net in the defeat against Brentford, both of which were from outside the area.

Sinisterra spoke of his pride on Instagram at scoring for the first time for his country, before then claiming in an interview with Gol Caracol, via Infobae, that he wants to keep this run of form going.

He said: “Unique feeling of scoring my first goal with this shirt. I will always be proud to represent my country.

“Starting this process with a victory was all we wanted, what we had been working for. Very happy for my first goal with the Colombian National Team and there will be many more.”
