Luis Palma transfer fee set amid Rangers scouting mission as Aris hold firm over in-demand winger

Greek club Aris have slapped a £4.5 million price tag on Honduran winger Luis Palma after Rangers ramped up their interest in him.

The 23-year-old was scouted by the Ibrox side last weekend during Aris' home defeat to Panathinaikos and representatives of Rangers have also monitored him all season. But they face serious competition from Anderlecht and the Belgian side reportedly made an official enquiry for the six-times capped wide man this week.

However, the Thessaloniki outfit - who currently sit in fifth spot in the Greek league - want £4.5 million for their star asset, who still has three years left on his contract. Palma - who won the Goal of the Month award in Greece for his goal in a derby against PAOK Salonika - has been in outstanding form this season and Aris rejected a £1.25 million offer from Dynamo Kyiv in the summer. He was also linked with clubs in Brazil, USA, Germany and France.

He's scored ten goals and six assists in 30 games for Aris and has attracted plenty of attention. And they have reportedly substantially increased their valuation of him.

Rangers boss Michael Beale revealed last week he has the funds to rebuild his squad in the summer and Palma is a target for the new boss.
