It's finally happened. Graham Potter has been sacked as Chelsea manager after just six months in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The 47-year-old won just 12 of his 32 games with the Blues before suffering the same fate as his predecessor Thomas Tuchel. Todd Boehly is now searching for a new manager to lead the club forward as he aims to deliver on his long-term vision in west London.
Luis Enrique is among the candidates being considered to replace Potter with Bruno Saltor set to take charge as an interim boss for the foreseeable future. football.london understands Julian Nagelsmann is currently a serious contender to become the next Chelsea manager, but Enrique's achievements and attributes could see the Spaniard make a surprise move to the Premier League.

Other options such as Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane are waiting for a specific job, that same fact does not seem to apply to Enrique. Speaking to CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano said: "Luis Enrique is a top coach and it’s normal to see his name around for many jobs - at the moment, he’s not in conversation with any club yet.
"What I can say for sure is that Luis Enrique wants to return as soon as possible after the World Cup and he’d love to be back at work in the next months, he doesn’t want to stop."
Following the World Cup, Enrique and Spain came to the mutual decision that he would no longer continue as the national team head coach. His stance on wanting to return to management could certainly be taken advantage of by Chelsea should Boehly relieve Potter of his duties, however it may not be that simple.
"I’d like to manage in England at some point," Luis Enrique told FourFourTwo in 2013. "My wife wouldn’t like the weather, she’s from Barcelona and likes the sun. It would depend on the team and the football they played."
Of course this comment was over a decade ago and his wife Elena Cullell, could have since changed her stance on moving to the United Kingdom.
