Luis Diaz update given as Liverpool handed huge injury boost

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz is ready to return to team training after recovering from the knee injury he suffered in the defeat to Arsenal at the start of October.

This news comes as a welcome boost to Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool begin their Dubai training camp on Monday.

Diaz was in great form for the Reds before his injury at the Emirates and the Colombian will be wanting to hit the ground running once the World Cup is over and domestic and European football resumes.

The Reds attacker's rehab on the injury has gone to plan, according to The Athletic, who state he is 'now in a position to resume team training in Dubai'.

The report adds that while some of his team-mates who are not involved in the World Cup have been on holiday, Diaz has been working hard at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.

The Reds have friendlies against Lyon (December 11) and AC Milan (December 16) while out in Dubai, and if Diaz plays in them, and proves his fitness, he may come into contention for the team that takes on Manchester City in a Carabao Cup fourth-round tie at the Etihad on Thursday, December 22.
