The Reds attacker will undergo surgery on the injured lateral collateral ligament in his knee according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.

"Luis Diaz will undergo surgery tomorrow to recover from the lateral collateral ligament injury in the knee. Liverpool expects the Colombian to play again in March," Sierra tweeted.

It means Jurgen Klopp may be left waiting again in what would be a huge blow for the Reds as they look to push for a top four spot once the Premier League resumes on Boxing Day.
