Liverpool have made an offer of £49 million to FC Porto for winger Luis Diaz, not long after it was thought the Reds would stay silent this transfer window.
The near £50m bid for the Colombian winger comes shortly after Spurs made advances for Diaz this week, and Liverpool are looking to pay an initial fee of £37m with a further £12m in add-ons for the 24-year-old.
The Reds had been linked with Diaz earlier this month but settled on moving for the winger in the summer, but after a strong interest shown from other clubs, it seems Jurgen Klopp didn't want to risk losing out on last year's Copa America's joint top scorer.
Diaz has grabbed 16 goals and six assists in all competitions for Porto this season, with the Colombian also making two appearances against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League group stages.
Predominantly featuring on the left, it seems that Diaz could be the potential successor to Sadio Mane, with the Senegal international's contract up next summer, so how does Diaz compare to Mane as well as the rest of Liverpool's attack on FIFA 22?
Let's take a look at the 24-year-old's stats on FIFA 22.
Luis Diaz in FIFA 22
Overall rating: 83/99
Overall Potential : 86/99
Position: LM
Weak Foot: Four Star
Skill Moves: Four Star
Work Rate: High/Medium
After starting FIFA 22 at 80 rated, Diaz has increased by three ratings overall, currently rated 83 out of 99 with an increased potential rating of 86/99.
After his incredible start to the season, Diaz was also rewarded with a Headliners Player Item in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, an item only given to the best performing players in real life so far this season.
Diaz' strongest position is LM, but the Colombian can also play LW, RW and even ST if needed.
Compared to the rest of the Liverpool attackers, the 24-year-old is the same rating as Diogo Jota (83), but lower rated than Roberto Firmino (85), Mane (89) and Mohamed Salah (91).
Diaz won't come straight into the Reds side as a starter, but compared to the rest of the Liverpool attackers, the Colombian is a huge improvement from the current bench options rating much higher than Divock Origi (76), Takumi Minamino (75) and Kaide Gordon (61).
Diaz has a high potential rating of 86 out of 99, which is higher than the current and potential rating of Firmino, the same as Thiago (86), but just a bit lower than Harvey Elliot (87) and Jota (88).
When compared to the rest of the forwards at the Reds, Diaz has a similar stat layout on FIFA 22 which is extreme pace, impressive dribbling and strong shooting stats. Diaz boasts 92 out of 99 in both his acceleration and sprint speed, slightly lower than Salah but faster than Mane, Jota and Firmino.
When comparing both left wingers Mane and Diaz, both are very similar in their stats.
Mane is slightly slower, with his pace rated 91 out of 99 compared to Diaz's 92. Mane has slightly better shooting (82) than Diaz (80) with the Senegalese's finishing (85) five ratings higher than Diaz and his positioning (90) 10 ratings higher.
Both wingers have 89 out of 99 for dribbling, whilst Mane's overall passing and physicality are both better than the Colombian, with Mane's aerial ability and strength the big difference between the two.
Apart from his pace, Diaz's best stats are his dribbling (89), agility (86), ball control (84), shot power (84), reactions (83), composure (83), stamina (83) and long shots (82).
Standing at 5ft 11ins, Diaz has four-star weak foot and four-star skill moves, showcasing how skilful the winger is and his ability to use both feet confidently.
