Luis Diaz posts injury update as Liverpool wait on return

Liverpool star Luis Diaz has provided an update on his recovery from injury.

Diaz has been sidelined with a knee problem since early October. A tackle with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has led to the Colombia international being on the sidelines for a large portion of the season.

The 26-year-old was initially expected to return to action after the World Cup, and was even at Liverpool’s training camp in Dubai in December. However, the winger suffered a setback on his recovery and was forced to require further surgery to correct the problem.

Diaz is now expected to be sidelined until March with injury, meaning he will have been out for at least five months. Now Diaz has posted an update on his recovery.

In a post on Instagram, Diaz has published a video which shows him taking part in a session at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby. The Liverpool forward can be seen going through a light routine with various stretches and a session on an exercise bike, while wearing a supportive brace on his left knee.

Diaz did not use any words in the caption for his video, but he did use the emojis of a bicep, a football and an egg timer. Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and former Liverpool striker Divock Origi liked the post by the forward.
