Luis Diaz given FIFA 22 upgrade after stunning Liverpool start

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has received a major upgrade on FIFA 22 after his fantastic start to life on Merseyside.

Following his move to Liverpool from Porto in the January transfer window, Diaz has become a regular in the Reds XI, with Sadio Mane now being deployed through the middle to accommodate the Colombian. His impact since arriving has helped Liverpool challenge for all four available trophies, with his latest contribution being the match-winning assist in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Diaz has scored crucial goals against Benfica and Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League and Spurs in the Premier League, with his tally currently at six goals and four assists in 24 appearances. It appears that EA Sports have taken notice of the 25-year-olds terrific form, with the winger receiving a big upgrade on FIFA 22.

Luis Diaz handed huge upgrade in FIFA 22 squad update

Diaz has been awarded for his impressive form this season with a +1 upgrade to his overall and potential rating in FIFA 22, taking the forward to an 84 overall rating. His potential rating has been increased to 87 rated overall, meaning Diaz has seen his rating increase on FIFA 22 by four ratings since the start of the game.

The upgrade to Diaz's rating means he is now rated as the joint 11th best player in Jurgen Klopp's side on FIFA 22, joining Joel Matip as 84 rated. But Roberto Firmino (85), Diogo Jota (85), Sadio Mane (89) and Mohamed Salah (91) are all higher-rated than the Colombian.

Before his move to Liverpool, Diaz had increased from 80 to 83 rated whilst at Porto after an incredible season in Portugal, and he has continued his trajectory since arriving at the Reds. As well as his overall and potential rating increasing, Diaz received upgrades to his crossing (74-76), short passing (75-76), long passing (70-71) and ball control (86-87).

The upgrade to Diaz's ball control took him above Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota, with the quartet all rated 86 out of 99 in that attribute. As well as Diaz, Kostas Tsimikas was the only other player to change in the latest squad update, with his potential rating strangely dropping from 81 to 80.
