Luis Diaz is in contention for a first Liverpool appearance in nearly six months at Manchester City on Saturday after returning to full team training.
The Colombia international stepped up his rehabilitation significantly during the international break by working with the club's academy players ahead of comeback to first-team action.
Diaz was part of the senior group that was pictured training on Thursday afternoon at the AXA Centre as Jurgen Klopp put his players through their paces ahead of Saturday lunchtime's visit to the Etihad.
The 26-year-old has not played for the Reds since suffering a knee injury in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in early October. The former Porto winger had been primed for a post-Christmas comeback before breaking down at the club's mid-season training camp in Dubai.

He was forced to fly back to Merseyside just days into the near two-week trip to undergo surgery and he has been working his way back to fitness ever since. After close to half a year on the shelf, however, Diaz is now back in training, giving Klopp a major boost ahead of the final 12 games of the campaign.
Diaz is almost certain not to start at the Etihad but his return will give the club a timely lift ahead of a vital dozen-game period that will decide their top-four fate and he could feature in a match-day squad for the first time since October 9 this weekend.
Klopp will deliver the latest on the South American wideman when he speaks to the media to preview the City game on Friday afternoon.
Darwin Nunez was also cleared to return after he missed Uruguay's fixtures over the international break with an ankle complaint. The striker withdrew for the matches with Japan and South Korea but is in training with his club-mates once more.
Kostas Tsimikas was another who was part of the session, despite withdrawing from Greece's 0-0 draw with Lithuania earlier this week. The left-back was taking off after 24 minutes of the goalless affair on Monday but played a part in Thursday's training.
