Luis Alberto Lopez shows class backstage after Michael Conlan knockout

Luis Alberto Lopez may have disappointed the Belfast crowd with his stoppage victory over Michael Conlan at the SSE Arena on Saturday night, but he turned out to be a big hit with six-year-old Dáith Mac Gabhann.

Dáith, who is in need of a heart transplant, has long advocated for a change in Northern Ireland's organ donation laws. The youngster was accompanied with his parents Máirtn and Seph.

The six-year-old attended the weigh-in and press conference prior to the IBF featherweight title fight.

Lopez showed his qualities in the ring as a vicious punch in the fifth round left Conlan sprawled out on the canvas, with his coach Adam Booth throwing in the towel to end the contest.

And the Mexican was equally impressive outside the ring as he met up with Dáithí after the fight to present him with one of his gloves.

Dáithí delivered a stunning left hook of his own on the IBF featherweight champion before the pair hugged it out in a lovely moment backstage at the SSE Arena.

In April Dáithí was awarded the Freedom of The City from Belfast City Council.

The organ donation bill will come into law in June and will be known as Dáithí's Law and it is expected that an official ceremony to mark Dáithí being awarded the Freedom of the City could be held to coincide with that.
