UFC lightweight Ludovit Klein is running hot, and hopes to be rewarded with a top 15 opponent next.
At UFC Fight Night 243, Klein (23-4-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC) made it seven straight fights without a loss (6-0-1) by winning a unanimous decision against Roosevelt Roberts (12-5 MMA, 4-5 UFC) on the prelims.
The lightweight division is one of the most stacked in the sport, but with his current run, Klein hopes he has done enough to earn a crack at an opponent with a number next to his name, even going far as calling for the winner of the event’s headliner, Renato Moicano who defeated Benoit Saint Denis.
“My next opponent, I hope will be from the top 15,” Klein told UFC News. “Because I need a good name for my motivation, for my hard prepare, and I will be waiting for a really good name. Because I have a seven-fight win streak, and I need it.
“Today is the main event, Moicano vs. Saint Denis. Maybe winner from this fight.”
On his current run, Klein has defeated Devonte Smith, Mason Jones, Ignacio Bahamondes, AJ Cunningham, Thiago Moises and Roberts. A majority draw against Jai Herbert disrupted the winning streak, but also kept Klein out of the loss column. His last setback came against Nate Landwehr in October 2021.
"I like fighting on the feet and striking, but sometimes we must change the game and now was the time."
