TV star Lucy Kennedy has revealed she could be set to spend a weekend with Katie Price in her mucky mansion for her series of Living With Lucy.
The hit show returns to our screens early next year – and Lucy revealed she is hoping to spend a weekend with the controversial glamour model at her home in Sussex in the UK.
Filming starts in three weeks’ time and who she will be living with has been kept tightly under wraps.
But Lucy told us: “They’re confirming Katie Price. It looks like I could be living with her in November, but I don’t know who else is confirmed.”
However, before the new series airs, the mum-of-three will air Lucy Investigates on Virgin Media, which sees her delve into topics like sex, cosmetic surgery, traveller women in families and social media.
The first episode will air on Virgin Media on October 10 and Lucy revealed her sex documentary will be first up.
Opening up about the episode, she said the colour “drained from her face” when she attended a swinger’s party for the episode.
“We start off with the saucy show, which is not for our younger friends. I viewed it obviously and I laughed from start to finish. At one point I had to take out my inhaler to take a puff. I have never in my life in 46 years looked as out of place and as uncomfortable and at time in pain. I have never looked as shy, nervous, embarrassed and shocked. I think everyone watching it will cringe for me.
“I am the minority. A lot of people are living their best love lives in Ireland. More so than people realise.
“They’re consenting adults, that is just what they are into. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. They’re not freaks or weirdos. They’re really nice, genuine, honest people. It made me realise that I am a nerd. I am a complete prude.
“At one point when we go to this love party, I am wearing a mask and I still looked pale. You can see the colour draining from my face.”
And she said her hubby Richard will tune in to see how she got on.
“It’s not what you think it is. Keep in mind, everything I do there is a Lucy-ness to it.
“It still is the Lucy vibe. It could be Living With Lucy – I could be there with a celebrity. It’s not shocking. It’s nothing that no one has ever seen before and there is a lot worse on the telly.
“Obviously when I go to this party, there is not full-blown activity. We would not for one split second filmed that or be part of that.
“For me as a presenter there are certain things I don’t want to see. So we got a flavour of what the play party was but I think anything further that what we filmed would personally I think be too much. But maybe that’s the prude in me. Everyone involved is pixelated. They’re just really nice people who like to go to swinging parties.”
“Just because I don’t want to get whipped, doesn’t mean it’s wrong,” said the Classic Hits radio star.
And she admitted she isn’t worried about complaints about the show – urging viewers to keep an open mind.
“Not at all. Jesus. If anyone complains over this, they really need to get a life.”
“Maybe it’ll make the average person who is not into this less judgemental and for the people who even think about complaining, I would say maybe open your minds and let people get on with what they want.
“I don’t judge people for anything they do, once it is not illegal and they’re not hurting somebody. These are really nice consenting adults who are just living out their best sexual lives. But they’re just like us. They’re not freaks or weirdos or perverts.”
Lucy was speaking at the launch of Benecol’s new ‘What’s Your Number?’ campaign, which aims to support heart health and raise awareness of the issue of high cholesterol, which affects 60% of Irish adults* and, untreated can contribute to coronary heart disease.
As part of World Heart Day, Benecol is working with Hickeys & AllCare pharmacies to host a free cholesterol testing day on Friday 7th of October. Cholesterol tests will be available in selected Hickeys & AllCare pharmacies on Friday, October 7th, and if there isn’t a participating location near you - at home tests are also available for free via post. Tests are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
Speaking at the campaign’s launch, Lucy Kennedy said: “It’s really important to know your cholesterol level, often we want to ignore things especially if we’re afraid that the answer might not be what we want.
"But with cholesterol, it's very much something that you can take into your own hands and do something about - so there’s no reason to be afraid.
“My own dad had high cholesterol and uses Benecol with plant stanols to help control it. So I was delighted when I had the opportunity to support Benecol’s free testing day.
"It’s so important to take your health into your own hands, so book your free test today. I’ll be down in Hickey’s Pharmacy in Monkstown on October 7th - so I hope to see some of you then.”
