Lucy Fallon's 'wild' baby shower - mosh pit, Prosecco cart and party-hard Corrie pals

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon celebrated her pregnancy in style last weekend with a stunning baby shower.

The Bethany Platt actress, 27, is expecting her first child with footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson.

But the mum-to-be didn't bow out quietly - instead inviting 100 guests, including lots of Lucy's friends from the ITV soap - to the posh Shankly Hotel in Liverpool for a night to remember.

Guests including Lucy's soap pals Helen Flanagan [Rosie Webster], Sally Ann Matthews [Jenny Bradley], Colson Smith [Craig Tinker] and Katie McGlynn [Sinead Tinker] partied until nearly 2am in the morning.

Guests enjoyed a bottomless Prosecco cart and Lucy admits "everyone went a bit wild" when the dad-to-be arrived and put money behind the bar.

Lucy started the night in a stunning 1920s style white dress with delicate pearl beading and diamontes scattered through her blonde waves.

But after posing for photos, the pregnant star changed into pyjamas to take to the dancefloor with her guests - and some partygoers even started a mosh pit.

“Guest arrivals were at 4pm and there was a prosecco cart,” Lucy tells OK! magazine.

“And then when Ryan turned up around 6.30pm with the boys, he put money behind the bar – so everyone went a bit wild like they do at weddings when there’s a free bar! There were a lot of sore heads the next day.”

Pregnant Lucy obviously didn't get to enjoy the fizz, but staying sober didn't stop her having fun and she danced the night away.

“I was basically dancing around like I was in a mosh pit or something,” she laughs.

“I was the first one up and I was there until the end. I went upstairs at 10.30pm to put PJs on, but came back for more dancing until 1.30am.”

Before the party got started, Lucy's baby shower guests tucked into afternoon tea and played rock 'n' roll bingo.

Songs with the word ‘baby’ in them were played and guests marked off the tracks on cards - but it didn't go quite to plan.

“I don’t know what happened, but I forgot to put different songs on different cards, so everyone ended up with the same list of songs on their cards. It meant everyone would end up shouting ‘house’ at the same time,” she said.

“I realised with about two songs to go, so I just decided that whoever screamed out the word ‘house’ first would win, and it was Sally Ann.”

The stunning party room was decorated with pink and blue balloons with roses on each table in the same colours.

Lucy is due to give birth on February 2 – and the party was held before she annoucned they are expecting a baby boy.

“I wanted it gender neutral on the day because I hadn’t made it public that we’re having a boy then,” she said.

“We found out the gender at 16 weeks. Obviously we weren’t bothered either way, but Ryan was so convinced we were having a girl.

“I’d been so sick at the beginning and neither of my sisters were sick when they were having their boys. And when you send people the 12-week scan, everyone tries to guess and everyone was saying, ‘It’s definitely a girl.’”

Guests gathered around to watch a performance by local singer and guitarist Owen Brown.

A DJ set followed with a mix of Lucy's favourite indie hits and Ryan's preferred House music.

Lucy insists her friends from Corrie were "the sensible ones" at the party and it was her friends and Ryan's friends away from work who were the "wild ones".

There was one Corrie favourite - Faye Windass star Ellie Leach - that gave them a run for their money.

"Ellie is always on the dance floor, even sober – which she was," Lucy said.
