Lucy Fallon asks if she's being 'pathetic' as she calls on fans for pregnancy advice

Lucy Fallon has turned to her fans for advice as she enters the latter stage of her pregnancy. The former Coronation Street star is due to welcome her first child into the world on February 2 with her footballer beau Ryan Ledson.

Last month, Lucy, who is known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, revealed she is expecting a baby boy at her wild baby shower with her former soap co-stars. Her pregnancy announcement, however, came in September when the mum-to-be was five months pregnant.

Lucy and Ryan's joyous baby news comes after Blackpool-born Lucy suffered a tragic miscarriage early last year. The couple had gone for a private scan when Lucy was seven weeks for some early reassurance after the news came as a “massive shock and surprise." After being referred to hospital they were dealt the devastating blow that Lucy had miscarried.

Lucy and Ryan have since been looking to the future after their devastating experience with their first bundle of joy due in a matter of weeks. "We’re very fortunate that it happened again for us," Lucy, who took a pregnancy test while on a trip to the Maldives, told OK! at the time of her pregnancy reveal.

Since then, the former soap star has been keeping her fans updated on her journey to becoming a mum and on Monday night (January 2), Lucy took to Instagram to ask fans if she's being 'pathetic' as she's suffering from Braxton-Hicks.

The 27-year-old shared a picture of her pet pooch, Sushi, to her Instagram Story and typed to her fans: "Why are my Braxton-Hicks painful? Do any of you know? Am I just pathetic?"

However, it is normal to experience contractions during pregnancy, particularly towards the end. These tightenings are called Braxton Hicks contractions and are usually painless, according to the NHS. However, to some, they may feel like extreme period pains.

Last week, Lucy shared a string of images with her hundreds of thousands of followers from her Christmas celebrations. Mum-to-be Lucy could be seen cuddling up to her adorable pet dog Sushi, while donning red and white striped pyjamas in front of the Christmas tree.

The actress had styled her long blonde tresses into waves and slicked a bit of red gloss across her lips. Lucy also posted snaps with her family as they sat around the table for dinner before swapping her oversized white T-shirt and baggy trousers combo for a pink of pink polka dot pyjamas with feathered sleeves - complete with paper crown.

Sharing how the images didn't quite show how her Christmas really went, Lucy, who played Bethany Platt in Corrie, wrote: "It may have ended in a sickness bug, but it’s been a holly jolly one with our fam nonetheless. merry chrysler everyone." At New Year, however, Lucy took to the time to share a moving message to her unborn son.

"2022 brought a mixture of hard & magical moments but the start of 2023 will bring us you and the best is yet to come happy new year everyone x" Lucy wrote on Instagram as she reflected on the past 12 months. The video montage included the moment Lucy found out she was expecting with a clip of her holding up the positive test. The emotional post also showed tears of joy as she told her loved ones the joyous news and featured a private at-home gender reveal as Preston North End footballer Ryan fired a confetti cannon to reveal a shower of blue tape.
