Lucy Bronze begs FA to give Lionesses a victory tour and hand Sarina Wiegman reward

Lucy Bronze has backed plans to give England women's coach Sarina Wiegman a new contract and urged the Lionesses to go on a stadium victory tour.

FA chiefs are set to sit down with Dutchwoman Wiegman after the summer to discuss giving her and her backroom staff of Arjan Veurink and Anja van Ginhoven new deals to reward their success in winning the Euros.

Lionesses hero Bronze also believes they should feed off the feel good factor of this summer by playing more England games at Wembley plus also at other main grounds around the country including Anfield and St James' Park.

Bronze said: “We all get on with Sarina and I know she always says it - you’re bored of hearing us - but she’s come as a three-pack which people don’t really talk about much. But Arjen is her right hand man and is the mastermind as well. And then Anja [van Ginhoven] who keeps Sarina organised. The three of them are an incredible team and I can see why Sarina brought them with her to England. It would be fantastic to have all three of them with us for as long as possible, as long as we keep being successful.”

Wembley was a sell-out on Sunday and the Lionesses have enjoyed record attendances throughout the tournament, starting at Old Trafford while also playing at the AmEX and St Mary’s plus Bramall Lane. But Bronze also believes they could sell out other famous stadiums if they feed off this summer’s success.

She added: “Wembley is great. I think the fact that we’ve been able to play at Wembley so much was an advantage for us. The support we have had around the country has been amazing. Old Trafford is a night that almost topped what happened at Wembley. Obviously we have got so many northerners and people all around.

“Like I know for myself I’d love to play at St. James’ Park. We love to play at Anfield, Goodison Park, all these amazing stadiums that we’ve got in England. It would be amazing to travel the country and maybe give that a go.”
