A lucky punter in Kildare has won a fantastic €80,000 in the Irish Lotto, and they didn't even have a ticket.
The person, who decided to remain anonymous, guessed four numbers to be called in the Saturday night draw on Boyle Sports with just a €2 bet and was counting their lucky stars at 8:00 pm last night when each number was announced. They chose the numbers 23, 24, 26 and 27 and only needed two of them to come out to bag themselves a profit.
But things got even better than that as all four rolled out and triggered payouts on a total of 11 bets, including one which overcame odds of 33,000/1 for all four numbers.

When all the winnings were tallied up, it made for a jaw-dropping windfall of €79,222, all from a €22 investment.
Speaking about the winning bet, Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “We took a big hit on the Lotto at the weekend, but we have to send huge congratulations to our Kildare customer whose bet bagged a stunning €79,200 profit.
“They took a shot at the odds and it’s turned into a life-changer, so fair play to them for aiming big.”
The win comes after a Dublin family syndicate celebrated a EuroMillions win in style earlier this week after picking up a €193,667 windfall at Lotto HQ. Staff at Broderick's had only set up their 19-person syndicate seven months ago but it seems that luck was meant to come their way.
They bought their winning match 5 plus lucky star EuroMillions quick pick ticket at Circle K Westway service station on the Kylemore Road in Dublin 12.
