Luckless Adam Doueihi pens new deal with Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers are backing Adam Doueihi to overcome his fitness issues after putting faith in the versatile playmaker and handing him a new contract.

Doueihi will remain with the club in 2025 despite having yet to take the field at NRL level this season.

The Lebanon international played in reserve grade last weekend in his first hit-out since suffering a third anterior cruciate ligament tear.

"I'm still only 25 and I know my best years are ahead of me," Doueihi said.

"I'll be working as hard as I can over the rest of this season and next season and I'm excited about the years ahead."

Doueihi played in the halves in NSW Cup last week but given the log-jam of playmakers at the Tigers next season, his path to first-grade action is likely to come elsewhere in the backline.

"It's been a very long road back from injury for Adam and it was so pleasing to see him out there last weekend," said Tigers chief executive Richardson.

"He is a tremendously talented footballer whose resilience and mental toughness cannot be questioned. And more importantly, he is a very good person."
