Lucas Leiva sends message to Kostas Tsimikas after winning Liverpool penalty in FA Cup final against Chelsea

Former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has sent a message to a Reds player after their FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

The Reds have won the prestigious trophy for an eighth time at Wembley Stadium. The tie finished goalless after extra time, with another shootout needed to decide the winner just like the Carabao Cup final earlier this year.

Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota all scored their spot-kicks, with Sadio Mane missing his. Kostas Tsimikas stepped up to score the decisive penalty to win the shootout.

Tsimikas was the seventh penalty taker for Liverpool, sending Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy the wrong way to send the travelling Kop into euphoria. The Greek international also wears the same squad number as Lucas.

The Brazilian left Liverpool in 2017 after spending a decade at Anfield. Now Lucas has sent a message to Tsimikas following his winning penalty.

“Making the number 21 proud laaaaaaaaa,” wrote Lucas, on Twitter.
