Luca Bish has claimed Love Island producers urged Islanders to stir up drama while in Casa Amor.
Former fishmonger Luca, 23, said bosses told the group of lads "don't f**k it up" in a talk about ratings before they met the female Casa Amor bombshells.
Discussing the show's off-camera intricacies with Jamie Laing's Private Parts podcast, he said: "We were standing there as boys and before we went in, we got called outside the villa and it was like 'Right, you lot are smashing it this year, the show is doing unbelievable, this is Casa Amor, don't f**k it up'.
"I think every boy knew what that meant, hence why you had chaos the first two days or whatever with the boys."
Luca, who asked Gemma Owen to be his girlfriend in a lavish proposal, also claimed that while in Casa Amor producers called him to the Beach Hut in an attempt to see if his head would turn.
He said: "I went to the Beach Hut and it was like 'come on, who do you fancy the most?' and 'why are the boys being such p***ies? They can't bottle it now'.
"I was like: 'OK, I know what you're saying', went out there and called them a bunch of p***ies, told them you've got to do what you've got to do."
Meanwhile, Luca also claimed that producers also supported Andrew Le Page's decision to recouple with Coco Lodge and risk leaving Tasha Ghouri single.
He claimed: "Before Andrew had to pick that night, I think he wanted to stay single, well, wait for Tasha.
"An exec or something was said where a few boys got it where 'if you are there and your girl comes back with a boy, you don't know if you're going home'.
"Your brain is going, if Gemma potentially came back with a boy or something like that, I knew it wouldn't happen deep down, but if she came back, I could've gone home."
However, a spokesperson for ITV told the Mirror: "There is no truth to these claims. The decisions made by the Islanders are their own."
Luca's claims come amid reports that ex-Islanders are set to star in a documentary to expose the secrets of the ITV2 dating show in a docu-series airing later this year on Channel 4.
The upcoming documentary is allegedly titled, Reality Check: Life After The Limelight, and will see those who have enjoyed a stint in the iconic Spanish villa reveal not only what goes on behind the scenes on the show, but what happens when work dries up once they return to 'normal' life after their series airs.
Laura Whitmore recently announced her decision to leave her hosting job on the programme and later claimed she wasn't allowed to check in on the Islanders.
She told The Sunday Times : "I hate having anything I'm not allowed to say. I couldn't ask Love Islanders if they were okay.
"It is hard. Your face is the front of the show but I am one tiny person and have no producing role so I couldn't say if I didn't think something was okay."
