Luas confirm Christmas and New Year's timetable with extra NYE trams

The Luas Christmas timetable has been confirmed with significant timetable differences from Christmas Eve onwards.

Luas operators Transdev confirmed today that all services will stop at 8pm on Christmas Eve, with no Luas trams in operation on Christmas Day. Lines will reopen at 9am on St Stephen's Day morning.

Trams will stop around 11pm on St. Stephen's Day for Tallaght Eastbound, Saggart Eastbound, and Brides Glen Northbound. The latest Luas will be The Point Westbound, which will stop at 11:30pm.

Luas have also confirmed that they will be operating special late routes for New Year's Eve until 1am.

The Christmas Eve timetable looks like this:

  • Tallaght Eastbound 05:30 – 20:00
  • Saggart Eastbound 05:42 – 19:52
  • The Point Westbound / Tallaght 05:30 – 20:00
  • The Point Westbound / Saggart 05:30 – 20:00
  • Brides Glen Northbound 05:30 – 20:00
  • Broombridge Southbound 05:30 – 20:00

While the times on St Stephen's Day are as follows:

  • Tallaght Eastbound 09:00 – 23:00
  • Saggart Eastbound 09:05 – 22:51
  • The Point Westbound 09:00 – 23:30
  • Brides Glen Northbound 09:00 – 23:00
  • Broombridge Southbound 09:00 – 23:17

There is a Bank Holiday on December 27 and 28, which will see the Luas operating on a Sunday schedule for both days. New Year's Day, January 2, and January 3 will also be operating a Sunday schedule, as follows:

  • Tallaght Eastbound 07:00 – 23:00
  • Saggart Eastbound 07:12 – 22:51
  • The Point Westbound 07:00 – 23:30
  • Brides Glen Northbound 07:00 – 23:00
  • Broombridge Southbound 07:00 – 23:17

December 29 and 30 will be operating on a Saturday schedule:

  • Tallaght Eastbound 06:30 – 00:00
  • Saggart Eastbound 6:42 – 23:52
  • The Point westbound 06:30 – 00:30
  • Brides Glen Northbound 06:30 – 00:00
  • Broombridge Southbound 06:30 – 00:17
