LSU Tigers standout wide receiver Kyren Lacy was arrested and booked into a Louisiana jail on Sunday on multiple charges. Lacy, a prominent player for the team, faced charges of negligent homicide, hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death, and reckless operation with accident, all of which are felonies.
According to online jail records, Lacy's bond was set at $151,000, and he was being held at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette declined to comment on the situation, citing respect for the legal process.
The incident in question occurred on December 17, 2024, resulting in the death of a 78-year-old retired U.S. Marine and injuries to two others. Reports indicate that Lacy was allegedly driving recklessly, including speeding and passing in a no-passing zone, which led to a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles.

Lacy reportedly fled the scene of the crash without rendering aid, as confirmed by the Louisiana State Police. Despite the ongoing legal issues, Lacy had declared for the NFL Draft just two days after the incident and did not participate in LSU's Texas Bowl victory against Baylor on December 31.
An arrest warrant was issued for Lacy last week, following investigations into the crash. During the 2024 season, Lacy had an impressive performance on the field, recording 58 catches for 866 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games for LSU.
