LSU rallies past South Carolina in wild SEC contest

LSU fell behind big time at South Carolina on Saturday. Brian Kelly’s Tigers seemed headed for a second loss in 2024.

Then, the Tigers came to life and scuttled the Gamecocks’ dreams of a 3-0 start and a huge SEC victory.

Overcoming a 17-0 deficit midway through the second quarter, LSU downed South Carolina, 36-33.

The result wasn’t settled until the Gamecocks missed a field goal at the end of the game.

LSU led 29-24 after a Mason Taylor touchdown reception four seconds into the final quarter.

South Carolina scored nine points on a Raheem Sanders 66-yard TD run and a field goal by Alex Herrera to take the lead.

Josh Williams scored on a short run to give LSU the 36-33 lead with 1:12 left, setting the stage for the Gamecocks’ last-ditch attempt to tie.
