LPG Prices Hiked: ₹50 More Per Cylinder From Tomorrow

₹50 More Per Cylinder From Tomorrow

New Delhi: Cooking gas just got costlier for all households. The Centre on Monday announced a flat ₹50 increase on all domestic LPG cylinders, effective midnight.

General users will now pay ₹853 per cylinder, up from ₹803. Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries face a new price of ₹553, increased from ₹503. Cooking gas prices have increased by Rs 50 per cylinder for both general and Ujwalla scheme users.

The hike kicks in just before peak summer, when LPG demand typically rises by 15-20%. Oil companies cite rising global prices but haven't clarified why subsidies weren't adjusted instead.

This is 2025's first LPG price hike. It impacts middle-class households already struggling with high food prices.
About 90 million poorest Ujjwala users will feel the pinch.
